Materials and contact

Float2Infuse identifies the basket as food-grade 304 stainless steel and the Baby Hippo top as food-grade silicone. The company states that the infuser contains no conventional plastic. The silicone top fits directly over the basket and contacts the drink, steam, and condensate while the infuser floats.

Care

After steeping, slowly twist and pull the silicone top from the basket, empty the leaves, and rinse with warm water. The manufacturer says the infuser is top-rack dishwasher safe. Avoid bleach, harsh dishwasher detergent, and essential oils on the silicone. Vinegar may be used for tea stains.

Good to know

Push the silicone top firmly onto the basket before brewing. Remove the infuser when the tea reaches the strength you prefer, or leave it floating as directed by the manufacturer. Do not leave wet tea in the basket for 24 hours.
